UK police have arrested more than 20 people during a week-long anti-fracking demonstration in the village of Balcombe. Hundreds of environmental activists have filled the streets of the village in West Sussex in protest against plans to drill for oil in the area.
The demonstrators are rallying to block the path of drilling trucks owned by energy company Cuadrilla. Local authorities granted the company permission to drill an exploratory well, but protesters say they fear Cuadrilla will use fracking, a controversial form of natural gas extraction.
